Chi is natural energy that flows through and around us. Chi is attracted to bright colorful spaces and its energy varies with the landscape it travels over. When a space is clear and wide open chi expands to fill it.
Rising chi is strong chi, settling chi is weaker. It takes more energy to travel upwards than sink downwards. Thus lighter more energetic chi is able to climb more easily and heavier danker chi will sink and pool into recesses.
Chi is at its most comfortable and relaxed when it can slowly meander through a space and has lots of interesting points to gather around and examine before flitting onward to the next attractor. Where chi is attracted it may linger, and while this is good, it is undesirable for chi to sink into inertia. When Chi travels in a straight line it travels with great force and may build more acceleration than is comfortable. Much as wind will rip through a canyon with high force and buffet whatever is in the path at the end of the canyon, and water will bounce happily along a curving brook, momentum is important. The ideal place for chi is where it is energetically rising, but with a gentle energy. This path is often expressed by the pleasant harmony it creates and the settle feeling an observer has when in a place of positive chi.
When chi is vital and expressive it is good, when chi is either sharp and rapidly moving (shar chi) or draining away and leaving the house rapidly through toilets and drains, this is not conducive and measures must be taken to bring it into harmony if comfort and abundance is desired. There are remedies of course, and you can see this in the section on conserving strong chi.
Chi is therefore best expressed in curving paths where enjoyable sights are to be seen. Chi is attracted to light, color and sound. The path to the house that wishes to attract chi is best if it is meandering, surrounded by attractive objects and flows upward over a few stairs. This helps sort the weaker chi out, as only the strongest chi will travel upward into the domicile. It is best if the steps are solid, as the strongest and most adventurous energies will climb and not simply flow through the spaces between the stairs.
In the interior of the home, elevation is also important. Heavier chi will behave as water, and will pool towards the lowest areas of the home, taking whatever energies they gather downward with this. For this reason the location of water and drains is important, as these funnels are places where downward force vortexes are created.
Conversely, uplifting lights, chimes and bright colors will cause chi to become "interested" and rise to dance around this. Chi also loves living things and will gather around the natural life force of plants and replicas such as uplifting artwork which provide beautiful environments to explore.
Step outside and take a quick walk through your home and explore it as if you are first arriving there. First notice the entrance is it welcoming and pleasant, are you climbing or descending. Is the ambiance pleasant and welcoming?
As you enter your home open the door and notice how you feel. Is the space open or cramped, what catches your eye and draws you towards it. Do you feel invited and uplifted or do you begin to feel somewhat comfortable. Follow your instincts and explore the house and contemplate what captures your attention. Do you feel a strong urge to rest for a while or do you feel wound up and like bouncing all over the place. Do you feel serene or hyper, relaxed or edgy. Listen to your instincts and explore what makes you comfortable and what makes you feel active, what is interesting and what is a bit of an eyesore and should be avoided. As you take this journey let your instincts guide you, are you walking slow or fast, if there is artwork perhaps you stop and look at it. As you do this exercise you will begin to attune to what makes your house the way it is and perhaps gain some insight into the psychological symbols you are placing to express your way in the world. Think about what is conducive to a good life and happiness and what needs work. In this way you will begin to see the areas that are strongest and weakest in your life.
Once you have done a walk through look at the sectors chart again and compare those to your instincts and the reality of your life. Do you notice that areas where your life is having problems correspond to the less pleasant areas of your home? You may also notice that areas where you are content and happy and making progress conform to areas which are more attractive. Think about this and then set about removing that which makes you uncomfortable and creating positive changes that make you feel better.
This will have effects on your life as you are beginning to make a conscious attempt at harmonizing with your world and environment.
