This is the most common view and is from the perspective of looking in your front door.  This traditional perspective is the view you will almost always see in references to feng shui where an illustration is used to show the areas of the bagua.   This convention is traditional, although it is often upside down and requires a lot of thinking to work out which area is which, particularly for beginners.  

You should use this view if you are anywhere along the entry wall to the home or the room that you are taking an assessment of.   If you are viewing from the corner, it may be more convenient to use one of the angled diagrams that are available on this site.
